The President met with cabinet staff and various agency heads to discuss severe weather preparedness. The President also received a briefing on the ongoing wildfire season and federal efforts to reduce wildfire risk in the United States. 

The President and his team discussed ongoing efforts to prepare for these extreme weather events and what is being done to improve response and resilience. They also spoke about investments including funding to increase community resilience to drought, flooding and wildfires.

The White House also discussed security investments such as hardening the power grid and using stronger materials like concrete poles and burying utility lines.  They also discussed coastal resilience and beach restoration.
